Adolph Gottlieb (1903-1974)

Adolph Gottlieb was a outstanding American painter and member of the first coevals of Abstract Expressionists. Characterized by an several use of an abstract visual language, his paintings are pepped up by Primitivism and pretend symbols and reach an emotional intensity from their signed use of color.
